This site is dedicated to the families whose lives have been deeply impacted directly or indirectly, by the use of illegal drugs. Too many people are currently affected by drug addiction - and too many of our loved ones have paid the ultimate price with their lives.

This site will highlight two sharing walls. The WALL OF HOPE will consist of a collection of inspirational stories and photos of people who live in recovery, and represent hope. It is a long hard road, and we trust their stories will demonstrate that it is possible to recover from addiction when one is ready to make the decision and seek help from professionals.

The WALL OF REMEMBERANCE will share the life stories and struggles of addicts and may include before and after pictures to reflect the harsh reality of narcotic addiction. The purpose of this wall is two-fold. We recognize and understand the social isolation experienced by families when a loved one has been lost due to drug addiction, and we have therefore created a place to share our stories and feelings free of judgement. In doing so, the memories of our loved ones live on, and serve as a conduit to change. Our hope is that this will serve to help and educate others who may be tempted to use drugs "just once". This wall will demonstrate that addiction is not a 'good time', and does not discriminate. The people that we have lost are our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons and friends, and are deeply loved and missed. The fact that their lives were lost to addiction doesn't change that, or minimize their importance in the world.

With your help, this site will develop into a valuable educational resource. In particular, we hope to provide our youth with the insight and strength to overcome peer pressures that hold the potential to lead them and their families down a path of lifelong struggle and despair. The wall of sorrow will provide a glimpse into the eventual outcome of their choices. If we join together, share openly, and fight, we may save thousands of lives through educating vulnerable family members with the powerful images and stories of those who already made the choice to do drugs "just this once" or "just one more time". Addiction will not bring young people notoriety among peers, nor provide adults with an escape to the challenges life presents us - it will only DESTROY!

We need your help to make this site available to as many people as possible. We need your short stories and photos of loves ones that have recovered, or have lost their life to addiction. We are asking you to please pass on the web address of this site to everyone you know, and together, we will make a difference.

We appreciate any support and feedback you provide. Please feel free to contact us at hope@lookbeyondaddiction.com.
